Tyler John Geppert is a Partner at Murphy Law Group, where he focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, corporate disputes, and white-collar criminal defense. He represents business owners, executives, and individuals in high stakes matters in both state and federal courts.
Tyler brings extensive trial experience across a wide range of complex legal disputes and is known for his strategic, results-driven advocacy. He has successfully tried numerous high-exposure cases to verdict and has secured multi-million-dollar jury awards and recoveries for his clients. His litigation style is assertive, disciplined, outcome-oriented, and designed to position cases for maximum leverage whether in the courtroom or at the negotiating table.
While relentless in pursuit of results, Tyler maintains a highly client-centered approach. He believes that clear communication, transparency, and trust are foundational to effective representation, and he works closely with clients to ensure they remain informed, empowered, and confident throughout every stage of their case.
Tyler serves as outside corporate counsel to an international company, advising on high-value contract disputes, employment matters, risk management, and the negotiation of sophisticated business and real estate transactions. He regularly counsels companies on strategic growth, operational risk, and dispute avoidance.
Before joining Murphy Law Group, Tyler practiced at several sophisticated commercial litigation firms in the Chicago area, where he developed deep experience in high-level motion practice, discovery, trial advocacy, and complex settlement negotiations.
A Chicagoland native, Tyler earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Iowa, with minors in History and Spanish. He also holds a Spanish Language Certificate from the Universidad de Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain. He received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School (now UIC John Marshall Law School) in Chicago, Illinois.
